Grab a pen, pick an everyday pattern, and give this a go. The aim isn’t to fix your whole life. It’s to find one small response you can actually try.
Small counts.
Choose something manageable, like delaying a task or saying yes too quickly. If an exercise feels uncomfortable, pause. This is personal-development education, not therapy or medical care.
1 minute
Finish this sentence: ‘When ___ happens, I usually ___.’ Describe the pattern without giving yourself a hard time.
2 minutes
Recall a recent example. What happened just before your usual response? Write down one cue you could notice next time.
2 minutes
Write: ‘When I notice ___, I’ll try ___.’ Make it small: one breath before answering, or two minutes on the task. Try it when the cue comes up, then note what you learned.
